Bicester Virtual Village
Acting as a Junior Consultant for Boston Consulting Group, I proposed an innovative digital retail development for the consideration of the client, Bicester Village, to implement as a long-term strategy to adapt to the post-pandemic business environment.
The task allowed me to directly identify the client’s pain points which led to the novel opportunity to rectify the bothersome logistical issue of congestion and confusion among the visitors of Bicester Village. Through the implementation of digital twin technology, the client would be able to replicate the village online for prospective shoppers to explore prior to an in-person visit so as to simplify the actual day of the visit, a strategy especially useful for tourists and first-time customers.
I was able to discover the habits of emerging clientele, the digital native Gens Z and Alpha, who increasingly occupy spaces in the metaverse. Through secondary research on virtual reality technology, I managed to conceptualise a partnership with the industry leader Emperia to assist with the client’s digital transformation. My commitment to tracking technological trends for industry applications provided me with the insight that digitisation is the key characteristic of a future-proof business.
